Elizabeth lived many years at the Hope Haven RTC in Orange City where she enjoyed working with flowers and in the kitchen. She moved to Akron Care Center in 2008 and lived there until her death, reaching the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 15 days.
Betty looked forward to playing Bingo every Friday where she enjoyed winning candy bars, lotions, and perfumes. She also enjoyed the monthly resident birthday parties and the annual holiday parties. Betty cared deeply for the residents and staff at the care center. In the 13 years Betty lived there, she had many different tablemates, and she always knew what meal they liked the best, etc. Betty often gave staff members nick names. She had a great knack for organizing everything from the library to the living room. Her unique personality touched so many staff, residents and families.
Elizabeth is survived by many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Kathryn Zylstra, brother, Herman, and sister, Sharon.
