Van Dis, Anna Mrs. Leendert, nee Maris, 61 years, 1839-1900

Noted in the De Volksvriend of Dec 27, 1900.
On Friday night, Dec. 21, 1900, it pleased the Lord, after a year's suffering, to take away from us my beloved wife and child-caring mother. Anna Van Dis – Maris, aged 61 years and 7 months. Although we regret our loss, it is a sad thing that she cried out in faith: Come! Lord Jesus! Come hastily! L. V. Dis and children. Orange City, Iowa 21 Dec 1900.

In another paragraph same issue...
Saterday is already a history of Mrs. Van Dis, after a year ago to have to the lung problems. She reached the age of 61 years and 7 months. Married life lasted 38 years. In addition to her husband, she leaves behind 3 daughters: Mr. Punt, Mrs. P. Ellerbroek and Mrs. G. Ellerbroek.
The family arrived here 12 years ago from Fijnaart, N.B. On Monday, the remains were buried and Dr. Steffens and Elder Jongewaard led the religious proceedings. The good woman has gone in the faith and lowered to the promised rest, which gives the remaining ones alternating comfort.

See the obit of her husband Leendert Van Dis 1838-1900 for more family details.
