Onze warme deelneming met de familie Schaap. Katie, die eenige Jaren geleden haren broeder Pieter alhier zoon vriendelijk bijstond, is gestoven aan de keeltering. Zij bevond zich ten huize van haren vader te Zeeland, Mich., met twee andere zusters, waar van den eene, hattie, vroeger onder wijzeres aan onze publieke school, bedenkelijk krank ligt. Ook de oude heer nadert aijn einde. Ruim een jaar geleden ging de moeder de overblijvenden voor.
Translated:
Our warm condolences with the Schaap family. Katie, who a few years ago kindly assisted her brother Pieter here, died illness of the throat. She was at the home of her father in Zeeland, Mich., with two other sisters, where one, Hattie, formerly a teacher at our public school, is questionably insane. The old gentleman is also nearing the end. More than a year ago, the mother preceded the remaining family.

Death record states the daughter of Cornelius Schaap 1828-1906 and Janna Romeijer 1833-1900.

Upon researching the family their son Pieter Schaap was from Orange City IA. Born 1854 MI died 3 Apr 1912 Orange City IA.
