Tyler Lee Westra, 30, of Tea, South Dakota, passed away on August 6, 2021, at his home in Tea. Visitation with family present will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the Hull First Christian Reformed Church in Hull, Iowa. Additional visitation with family present will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Tyler will be laid to rest in the Hope Cemetery in Hull.

Tyler Westra son of Brad Westra and Aletha (Klein) Klarenbeek was born July 21, 1991, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2010 and was active with the Debate Team. He started working for Royal Fork in Sioux Falls at the age of 14 and dedicated his service there until it closed last year. Over the years he played many games of chess. Tyler enjoyed spending time with his dad going fishing and especially loved catching frogs and turtles with his siblings. Above all he loved spending time with family and his dog, Elmer.

Left to cherish his memory are his father, Brad (special friend, Mong) Westra of Tea, SD; mother, Aletha (Gary) Klarenbeek of Inwood, IA; sisters, Jessica (Darren) Bakker and their children, Rielly, Ashlynn, Breckken, and Kenzlee of Hull, IA and Brittany (Calvin) Maassen and their children, Paisley, Brayson, and Dawson of Inwood, IA; half siblings, Garret and Gianna Klarenbeek of Inwood, IA; grandparents, Johanna “Jo” Westra of Hull, IA, Bernie and Clara Schiebout of Mission, TX, and Geneva Klarenbeek of Rock Valley, IA; his four legged best friend, Elmer; and many extended family members and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Donald Westra and Gerrit Klarenbeek; and step-mother, Debra Westra.
