Dick Duistermars died Friday evening in the Cherokee hospital at the age of 53 years and 5 months. Deceased has suffered many years with consumption of the spine. He was born at Terwolde, Gelderland, the Netherlands and came to this country as a boy of 10 years. On November 10 in the year 1891 [this is very light and hard to read, so might be incorrect] he was united in marriage to Aaltje Mouw, who survives him. The day ....[unable to read]...Ben Mouw....Sioux.... Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock in the house three and one-half miles west of town and at 2 o'clock in the Christian Reformed church. The service was led by Rev. Gulker of Carnes.
