Dawn was born September 30, 1952 to her loving parents Rudolph “Rudy” and Katherine (Harmelink) Drost in Sioux County, IA. She was born with Spina-biffida. For a few years she was able to walk with help, but as her age progressed she used a wheelchair. Dawn never let anything slow her down. In the 8th grade she went to Sunnyside Camp and learned all kinds of things, like going down the steps in the wheel chair

Dawn worked at Area Educational 12 for several years, and then MCI and First Premier Bank Card. She was married to Mike Steig for over 25 years before his passing of lung cancer. Later on she married Lewis Pippitt who also passed from lung cancer.

Dawn then moved to South Sioux City, NE. to a nursing facility, where she was a social butterfly. She loved to talk to others, listen to music, watch Netflix, craft a little and by all means dress up with her full makeup and a new fondness for wigs. She was loved by many of the staff and fellow residents.

She leaves many happy memories with her sister, Rhonda Klave , two daughters, Hope and Holly Pippit, son, Richard Pippitt, three grandchildren, sister and brother in law many friends, fellow residents and staff who will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step mother, Doris Drost, two husbands, a step brother, Ken Bouma, a step sister, Betsy Urbas.

Remember little sister there are no wheelchairs in heaven.
