Richard “Dick” Ricke, age 74 of Remsen, IA passed away Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021 at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, IA with Father Timothy Pick officiating and Deacon Doug Heeren assisting. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Granville, IA. Visitation with family present will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, there will be a parish rosary and vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. Visitation will resume 1 hour prior to the funeral on Thursday at the funeral home.

Dick was born April 2, 1947 at LeMars, IA, the son of Omar & Leola (Konz) Ricke. He was raised and educated in Granville, IA graduating from Spalding Catholic in 1965. He then entered the Army National Guard.

On Nov. 22, 1969 he married Joyce Beelner at Worthington, MN. The couple made their home in Remsen where Dick owned & operated Ricke Feed Supply and later sold the business. He then worked for A.L. Williams Co. and later worked as a cattle buyer. The couple raised three children and later divorced.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen.

Survivors include his three children, Brent Ricke of Remsen, IA, Eric (Amanda) Ricke of Lawton, IA, Jodi (Brad) Berendes of Omaha, NE; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Jane (Fred) Frederes of Remsen, IA, Ruth Ricke, Bonnie Ricke both of Granville, IA, Shirley Ricke of Littleton, CO; one brother, Pat Ricke of Stratford, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Omar & Leola Ricke.

Casket bearers will be Brody, Brayden, Cody and Ryan Ricke, Trey, Cade and Tage Berendes.
