Mrs. Eliza M. Lentz, formerly of Hawarden, died last Saturday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. T.E. Granger, in Eagle Grove. She had been ill a long time and death was not unexpected. Mr. Granger came to Ireton Monday and made arrangements for burial and Wednesday the body was brought here and laid beside her husband and three children gone before. Mrs. B.N. Howe, formerly Miss Pearl Lentz of Pawnee, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Granger and two daughters accompanied the remains and saw them laid away. The funeral had been held from the home in Eagle Grove Tuesday. The local G.A.R. Post is named Lentz Post in honor of her husband who was the first veteran of the civil war buried in the Ireton cemetery. The ladies of the W.R.C. turned out to receive the funeral party.
