Research note: From a report on line (by others) Jacob Hoksbergen was born 3 Nov 1859 Doornspijk, Elburg Gelderland Netherlands died 11 May 1935 Lynden WA, married to Kaatje ‘Katie’ De Groot born abt 1868 Netherlands died Jan 1, 1888 Sioux County IA. They had two children listed as Aaftje Hoksbergen 1886 and Kate Hoksbergen born 1 Jan 1888 – died 1981 CA.

From the birth record of Kaatje De Groot on 5 Sep 1868 born to Ynze Gerbens de Groot and Afke Jans Jasper at Baarderadel, Friesland, it was assumed to be the correct parents of Kaatje because her first born child was named Afkje as was the custom of the day.
