In Sioux Center passed away the wife of Mr. Pieter Hop. About a month ago, Mrs. Hop (Jannetje Klein) from the Netherlands came here. About a week later she got married, but a lingering disease of the elderly affected her constitution, so that she died on Saturday. The funeral took place on Monday.

Find a Grave lists - Peter was born as Peter Hop (with one P). He married Willemina Smienk in Harderwijk, the Netherlands in 1872. Willemina died abt. 1888 in (probably) Sioux co., Iowa.

His second marriage was with Jannetje Klein in 1889 in Sioux Center , Sioux co., Iowa. She was born abt. 1844.

The sucession and deaths of the (3) Mrs. Pieter Hops is a bit confusing.
