YOUNG MAN CALLED

Friday evening the sad news was passed about that John Alberts had passed to the Great Beyond. While employed on the Al Van Dyke farm southwest of Hospers, he was taken sick with typhoid fever on Monday, April 17th and continued seriously sick until his death, although at times it seemed as if his ragged constitution would shake off the disease. Everything that loving hands and medical aid could do was done to save his life but death had marked him for his own.

John Alberts, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. and Geeritdina "Diena" (Tijsselink) Alberts, was born at Nijverdal, Netherlands, on April 24, 1898 and died April 28, 1922, aged 24 years and 4 days. At the age of 6 years he came with his parents to the United States and they located at Hospers, and have lived here ever since with the exception of 1920 and 1921 when they farmed near Sanborn.

The funeral was held Monday with the services at the First Reformed Church in charge of Reverend Bakker of Sanborn and Reverend Douwstra of Hospers. The pallbearers were Arie Vanderbeck, Tom Vilieger, Nick Spykerman, Will DeHartog, John Hoffs and Will DeBoer. The services were attended by a large concourse of sympathizing friends and relatives from Hospers and neighboring places.

The bereaved parents and relatives have the sincere sympathy in their loss and sorrow of the entire community and may they find comfort in the love of Him who said that life will show mercy unto the seed of those who trust in Him unto thousands of generations.
