The wife of J. H. Bakker died Saturday night of internal inflammation and was buried Monday The family came here from the Netherlands last spring. The lady’s untimely death is a severe stroke to her husband and three small children.
In the 1895 census there was a Johannes Bakker age 44 born Netherlands living in Holland tsp, Sioux County IA.
Immigration
In Apr of 1890 on ship Werkendam Jacob Bakker age 51 and wife 47, and Boukje 17, Aafke 11 and Thomas 2 immigrated to Orange City.

This Jacob Bakker was 7 1 born 1839 Neth. Living in Moxee Yakima WA in 1910 came in 1890, was living with daughter’s family Bertha Mrs. Jacob Hymans. His son Thomas was living there too. He was 23 years.

Note: a family report on ancestry.com had his wife as Grietje Harmens Stavinga born 1843 died ?, children Baukje Bertha 1872-1958, Aafke 1877 and Thomas Bakker 1886.
