Gregory John Barinsky, 68, of Ottumwa, died at 12:25 p.m. December 21, 2020 at his home.

He was born February 11, 1952 in Le Mars, IA to John and MaryJean TenNapel Barinsky. He married Cynthia Collmann July 24, 1976 and later divorced.

A 1970 graduate of West Sioux City High School in Hawarden, IA and Morningside College, he earned his MBA from University of South Dakota. He served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Italy during the Viet Nam War.
Greg worked as an accountant for Iowa Beef Processors in Sioux City and for Excel in Ottumwa. He owned and operated Corner Creek Acres and Companion Pets.

Surviving are two daughters, Erika Cantrell (Gary Hord) of Olathe, KS and Molly (Andy) Brainard of Agency; four grandchildren, Wyatt, Wade, Dane and Kinsley; his mother, MaryJean Swartout of LeMars; siblings, Douglas (Carolyn) Barinsky, Barb (Jon) Brandau, Sandy (Mark) Borchers and Mark (Glenda) Barinsky.

He was preceded in death by his father, John and step-father, Ray Swartout.

A memorial service may be held at a later date.
