Jelle Post, a Holland gentleman living in the west part of town, was suddenly called from the activities of life on Tuesday of this week. As he was on his way from home to the post office, he dropped dead, the cause being attributed to heart failure. Mr. Post was a very agreeable old gentleman though not well acquainted among the Americans. The funeral was held from the Holland church and the remains laid to rest in Hope cemetery. A wife and several grown children are left to mourn the loss of husband and father.

He married Sytske Tjipkes Sybesma December 10, 1882 in Friesland Netherlands. He died Jan 31, 1898 and is buried in Hull IA. His parents were Thijs Hendriks Post and Jeltje Jacobs Tuinenga. His wife Sytske ‘Sadie’ 1842-1926 died in Lynden WA.
