De 82 jarige moeder of Aud. Roos, op bezeoek bij hare dochter in Steamboat Rock, is aldaar aorglijk krank geworden, zij keert tot ons oord wellicht niet terug. Later zij is overleden.

Translated:
The 82 year old mother or Aud. Roos, visiting her daughter in Steamboat Rock, has become terribly sick there, she may not return to our place. Later she passed away

Marriage record in the Netherlands lists Jacob Arends Roos of Terschelling Friesland age 37 married Tijntje Douwes Smit of Terschelling age 25. He was the son of Arend Ariens Roos and Barber Jacobs Wagenaar, she was the daughter of Douwe Hessels Smit and Antje Iemkes Ruyg.

She was his second wife, mother of six children.
