D. Jurriaans residing in the extreme western part of the city, died very suddenly last Thursday morning of some heart affliction. He was 59 years of age and leave a family. He was buried Saturday in the Orange City Cemetery. He was an eccentric character and possessed a very disagreeable nature, which he seemed unable to control, and it is said that his death was partially due to a fit of passion.

Research note: A report on ancestry.com (by others) lists Daniel Jurriaans born Jun 6, 1840 Amsterdam, N. H. Netherlands son of Daniel Jurriaans 1812 and Anna Magdalena Stroomberg 1819 -1849. His wife was Wytske Reitzes Stoker 1848-1926, child listed was William Fredrick Jurriaans 1883-1957, said to be 6 children. 1900 census lists Trintje Jurrians Holland Tsp. and Daniel Jurriaans 1876 – of O. City., Janneke 1873,
