Mrs. C. W. Renshaw [Taken] By Death

[The center portion of the first 6 lines of the obit is missing, but it announces the death in Waterloo, Iowa of Mrs. C. W. Renshaw, a former resident of Rock Valley. She was a sister-in-law of Mrs. H. K. Hastings of Rock Valley.] Mrs. Hastings left Wednesday evening for Waterloo to attend the funeral services which were held Thursday afternoon. Rev. Frank Travis, of Marshalltown, Iowa, a former pastor of the Methodist church here, and a friend of the Renshaw family, had charge of the services.

MRS. C. W. RENSHAW, CASTLE HILL, DIES
Pneumonia Fatal to Wife of Waterloo Township Clerk.

Ill the past week of influenza and pneumonia, Mrs. C. W. Renshaw, 123 Grand boulevard, Castle Hill, died at 6:45 a.m. Monday at St. Francis hospital. She was 65 years old.

Born Kathryn A. Barker near Prairieburg, Ia., June 6, 1873, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Barker. She was married in Prairieburg, Ia., June 11, 1904, to Dr. C. W. Renshaw. The couple lived in Rock Valley, Ia., where he practiced dentistry until his retirement in 1920, when they moved to Castle Hill. Mr. Renshaw is Waterloo township clerk.

Surviving are the husband; two sisters, Mrs. Wright E. Holmes and Mrs. C. P. Scott, both of 814 Second street west; a brother, Ezra S. Barker, Willmar, Minn.

The body may be seen after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Parrott & Wood funeral home.

Her death certificate has her as Katheryn A. Renshaw, wife of Carroll W. Renshaw, and adds her parents, Seymour Barker, born in New York, and Mary Shafer, born in Pennsylvania; died at 6:45 a.m. April 3, 1939; cause, lobar pneumonia Type III, onset 3-29-39; contributory cause, influenza, onset 3-24-39; buried in Waterloo Memorial Park.

The Linn County, Iowa marriage register for 1902 has groom Carrol W. Renchin, 29, resident of Rock Valley, a dentist, born in Clayton County, Iowa, parents D. L. Renshin and P. A. Angier; bride Kathrine A. Barker, 30, resident of Prairieburg, Iowa, born in Prairieburg, parents D. S. Barker and M. C. Shaffer; married in Prairieburg June 11, 1902.
