Reuvers, John 1856 – 1942 died at Boyden,
Find a Grave born 1855, died 1941 buried East Lawn Cemetry Sheldon IA. His wife was Martha, two children listed were Jake Reuvers and Lena Smit.

From an on-line family history done by others, Jan ‘John’ H. Reuvers born 5 Jan 1855 Hetren, Gelderland Neth. Died 1941 Sheldon IA, His parents were Dirk Reuvers 1814-1859 and Wilhelmina Stubernrauch 1812-1861, His wife was Matje ‘Martha’ Nieuwendorp 1859-1920. Child listed was Henry Reuvers 1894-1978.

Mr. Reuvers married Martha Newendorp of Pella in 1879 and the couple came with their family to Sioux County in 1886. They farmed for a time near Orange City and in 1892 moved to Alton where Mr. Reuvers was employed as teamster for F. M. Slagle & Co. In 1915 they moved to Sheldon where Mrs. Reuvers died in 1920 and a son Dick, the same year. A daughter Gertie, passed on in 1934. Grandchildren from out of town at the services were Chas. R. Smit, Mrs. Jack Westphal of Waterloo, Mrs. Wm. Kleinhesselink, Mrs. John Kleinhesselink, Orange City, Mrs. Arie Bloemendaal of Alton, and their mother, Mrs. Lena Smit; also Mr. and Mrs Nic Sol of Alton, long time friends.

Hospers, - Mr. and Mrs. Mince Oordt kergen bericht da thun vader John Reuvers Dinsdag was overleden ten huize van zijn inderen Mr. and Mrs. John Van Roekel, juist west van Boyden, in den ouderdom van 86 jaren. Wij hebben hem van nabij mogen kennien, en het was altijd aangenaam hem te ontmoeten. Hij mocht ook gaarne de Voldsvirend lezen. Ook onze deelneming.
