The Sioux County Cemetery Index has Nicholas Diederich, born 1870 [this date is probably a typo], died Dec 1938/1939, St. Josephs Cemetery, Granville.

FindaGrave.com has a page for a person who appears to be him, but the supplied dates do not match those on the death certificate: Nicholas Diederich, born 9 Oct 1879 in Granville, died 27 March 1938 in Granville, buried in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery; parents Frank Diederich (1845-1927) and Eva Kramer Diederich (1859-1935); siblings Jacob (1881-1964), Margaret Diederich Fisch (1884-1961), William (1886-1913), John (1887-1971), Nick (1889-1966), Mary (1891-1891), Pete J. (1893-1971), and Mary (1898-1927). There is a photo of his headstone: “Nicholas 1879-1938.”

The 1930 U.S. census shows him living in Sioux City and working as a harness maker, as does the 1899 Sioux City directory, both as Nicholas Diedrich.
