Jason Allen Van Holland of Sioux Center, Iowa
June 14, 1984 - February 19, 2021

Jason Van Holland, age 36, of Sioux Center, IA died Friday, February 19, 2021 at his home in Sioux Center.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with Rev. John Lee officiating. Burial will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

Visitation with will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM with the family present from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center.

Masks and social distancing when possible are requested.

In lieu of flowers and memorabilia family request memorials to be directed to the Sioux Center Fire Department Association.

Jason Allen Van Holland was born June 14, 1984 in Sioux Center, IA the son of Dave and Leanne (Vreugdenhil) Van Holland of Sioux Center, IA. He was raised in Sioux Center and received his education at Sioux Center Christian School and graduated from Western Christian High School. Jason was a professing member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church. Jason’s love for God, life and others will be missed by many.

Jason was a big part of the family landscaping business VHLS. He enjoyed going to concerts and golfing. Jason loved his friends and family who were often considered by him as family more than friends. He loved big and fiercely. He had a kind and generous heart and was always willing to help anyone. He had a huge smile, he knew how to laugh, and got a kick out of pranks. His infectious laugh is unforgettable for all those who shared it. Jason knew how to get to the heart of who you are and often compassion reigned the conversation.

Jason had a passion for firefighting and all things with the fire department. His desire was to always better the department. He loved the work, the comradery and everything to do with the department. He enjoyed many water fights and attending fireman conventions. He became a Jr. Fireman at the age of 16 and has been a valuable member ever since. His countless hours spent at the Sioux Center Fire Department and his absence from there will be felt deeply by many.

Jason is survived by his parents, Dave and Leanne Van Holland of Sioux Center; brother, Kyle Van Holland and niece, Cecelia Van Holland of Sioux Center; grandmothers, Darlene Van Holland of Rock Valley and Sharon Vreugdenhil of Sioux Center; loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Van Holland and John Vreugdenhil.
