Translated:
On Saturday, after a short illness, old Mr. D. R. Dijkstra passed away here at the age of 78 years. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon at two o'clock from the Ref Church, and a large group of friends and interested parties were present to pay the last respects to the deceased.
Obituary
Today, in his Lord and Savior, my beloved husband and faithful father to my children, Doekele Dijkstra, fell asleep calmly and quietly in the blessed distress of nearly 78 years. The assurance that to him life was Christ, and therefore also to die is gain, eases our grief. May the Lord grant that we may all see him once again in the Father's house up there.
We hereby also wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all the friends who have refreshed our hearts with their interest and sympathy.

Research note: He had been married before in the Netherlands, and had several children there.

His parents were Reinder Doekeles Dijkstra and Saapkje Broers Postma.
