Grootmoeder Roos, de oude moeder van onzen vroegeren harrnessmaker A. Roos, is verleden week Maandag ten huize barer dochter te Steamboat Rock IA, overleden. Mrs. Jake Mouw ging derwaarts om bij de begrafeis tegen woordig te zijn.
Translated:
Grandmother Roos, the old mother of our harness maker A. Roos, died this week at the home of her daughter in Steamboat Rock IA. Mrs. Jake Mouw went there to attend the funeral today.

They had children Barber 1843, Maamke 1846, Wietske 1849-1921, Andrew A. 1852-1927, Arend 1856-1935, Neeltje 1858 and Jacob 1861-1863.
