An obituary (in Dutch) was also published in De Volksvriend, January 23, 1926. It adds that after a short wedding trip to Pella he and his bride settled on a farm in the Orange City area, and stayed there until about eleven years ago, when they moved to town, in large part due to Mrs. Bogaard’s facial disorder[?], which prevented her from doing the housework. [Her own obituary, posted separately, does not shed much light on this, saying only that she had accepted the burden of trying physical circumstances and had been cared for by her daughter Elizabeth.]
