Mrs. Frances Estes, aged about 85, mother of our townsman E. A. J. Estes died at his residence in this place Sunday evening

According to a report on ancestry.com ( by others) her husband John J. Estes born 1808 NC died 23 Jan 1890 Dane Wisconsin.

1885 Iowa census lists Elisha J. Estes age 49 born in NC living in Buncombe Tsp Sioux County Iowa, his father John J. Estes 86 born NC (Husband of Frances) was living with Elisha’s family.
