Maandagavond overleed in den ouderdom van 72 jaren de oude heer Bartels. Woensdagnamiddag van daag heeft de befrafenis plaast van uit de Ger Kerk
Translated, the older 72 year old Mr. Bartels died Wednesday and the funeral was from the Reformed church.

With hardly no information to go on the submitter found that this was Hendrik Bartels/Bartelds. No stone exists, but must have been buried in the Sioux Center Cemetery.

Rev. De Pree's funeral log lists him (Hendrik) as Roelof Bartels 72 year old, died 1897, funeral Dec 1, 1897.

Research note: From a report on ancestry.com (by others) Hendrik Bartelds was born 8 Aug 1826 in Beilen Drenthe Netherlands did 28 Nov 1897 Sioux Center IA. His parents were Derk Klasen Bartelds 1789-1875 and Janna Hoekman 1793-1856. His wife was Jantje Strijk born 11 Sep 1829,she died 5 Apr 1886 Wijster Beilen,Netherlands. Hendrik must have come with Peter Bartels and Geesje Kuiper, his son's family after that.
