Held Rites For John Van Hunnik Here Wednesday Funeral services for John Van Hunnik, 81, were held at the First Christian Reformed church in Rock Valley at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, with. Rev. Colenbrander of Orange ~ City officiating. Burial was made in the Pleasant Hill cemetery at Ireton. John Van Hunnik was born in the Netherlands October 31, 1866 He passed away at ten o'clock in the afternoon, October 30, 1948 at the age of eighty-one years, eleven months and thirty days. On December 23, 1893, he married Marie Hardeman in the Netherlands. To this union eleven children were born. Three died in infancy. The eight-living are Arie Van Hunnik, Briston, South Dakota; Mrs. Evert Vander Vliet Colton, South Dakota; Mrs. Pete Vander Plaats, Madison, South Dakota. John Van Hunnik, Milroy. Minnesota; Evertt Van Hunnik, Rock Valley, Iowa; Mrs. Pete Van Liere, Colton. South Dakota; Richard Van Hunnik, Harrisburg, South Dakota; Mrs. Wm. Burges, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Other- survivors include 31 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
