The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Rudd died last Sunday after a short illness. The funeral took place Monday after noon. The bereaved parents have the deepest sympathy of the community.

1885 Iowa State census of Buncombe tsp lists Hiram H. Rudd 50 born NY about 1835, Dollie Rudd 29 born IL, Ettie Rudd 18 born IL and Bertha Maud Rudd 5 born Dakota.

In a sketchy report on ancestry.com by others, Hiram H. Rudd was born about 1833 wife was Dollie Lydia J. Curtis 1854-1936 She died 13 Feb 1936 Clay Co. SD. She was later married to John Herne Sherk in 1888 Woodbury Co. IA. So was she was with Hiram in 1885 so must have separated and married in 1888, she had a daughter Birdie Rudd born 1879 -1949. Marriage record of Bertie Rudd 1931 to Harlow Manchester, has parents as Hiram Rudd and Elizabeth Ivy, First wife of Hiram.

Hiram died Dec 23, 1909 South Dakota once a wealthy person died penniless.
