DEATH CLAIMS MRS. MARGARET LONGINAKER WEDNESDAY
Was 68 Years of Age and Had Lived in the Sioux Valley for Many Years. — Leaves Seven Children

Mrs. Margaret Longinaker passed away at 5:30 Wednesday afternoon at the Hawarden hospital. She submitted to an operation Wednesday morning for appendicitis and her condition was found to be critical due to the fact that the appendix had ruptured and her poison had seeped through her system. She had been ailing all summer and the past two weeks she was bedfast.

The Funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Associated Church.

Margaret Taylor was born in Canada on Nov. 17, 1862, and passed away in Hawarden on Sept. 9, 1931, at the age of 68 years, 9 months, and 22 days. She came to Dakota Territory with her parents when just a mere baby and they located on a farm near Hudson. She grew to young womanhood in that vicinity and in 1878 she was united in marriage with J. F. Longinaker. After her marriage, she continued to live on a farm near Hudson. Ten children were born to this union, three of whom have preceded her in death, two children dying in infancy and another daughter, Mrs. George Anderson passed away a number of years ago Her husband died in 1914, and Mrs. Longinaker and her two sons, Oscar and Charlie, then moved onto a farm near Porter, Minn., where she lived for two years. In 1920 she came to Hawarden and has made her home here continuously since that time. Her son Charlie has made his home with her since she came to this city. Besides raising her family, she reared her two grandchildren, Bernice and Donald Anderson, who were left motherless with Mrs. George Anderson died. These two grandchildren are now grown up and make their home a Concrete, Wash. She was a kind and loving mother and though of an unassuming nature, she was willing to help anyone who was in need.

She is survived by seven children, three sons Oscar, Charlie, and John Longinaker of Hawarden; and four daughters Mrs. E. L. Behnke of Sioux Falls Mrs. Martin Anderson of Everett Wash.; Sylvia Longinaker of Sacramento, Calif.; and Mrs. Arthur Hoff of Chicago. Mrs. Hoff spent most of the summer here helping care for her mother during her illness.
