Babe’s death incorporated in this article.

Victims of Automobile Crash John and Don DeVries and Cecil Null and Miss Elsie DeVries of Storm Lake were the victims of an automobile crash early Sunday morning when they were returning home from Des Moines where they had gone after Miss DeVries. The car which crashed into them near LeMars was occupied by four people, Harold Oemig, Oliver Jones, M. Marx and R. E. Bixby of Sioux City. The Sioux City car turned over and Oemig suffered a fractured skull and his condition is regarded as critical. Jones suffered a dislocated shoulder and a broken arm and Marx and Bixby escaped with bruises and cuts. The two former are being cared for at the Sacred Heart hospital in LeMars. The DeVries boys and Cecil Null had driven to Storm Lake and were on their way home. Miss DeVries had come to care for her sister, Mrs. Louis Vander Molen, who is seriously ill with scarlet fever. A new born babe not surviving its birth very long made care all the more necessary. The babe was buried Monday. The Vander Molen family formerly lived south of Ireton on Route 2 for years and it was only last spring that they moved onto a farm near Maurice. They have the sympathy of the community in their trouble.
