Mr. Otto Rouwenhorst was born at Orange City on October 20, 1882 and moved to Boyden at the age of five years. His marriage to Matilda Ver Steeg took place at Boyden on March 12, 1908.

Mr. and Mrs. Rouwenhorst moved to a farm at Marion, South Dakota, in 1913, where they lived until retiring in 1944. They have been residents of Sioux Falls since that time.

Mr. Rouwenhorst had been in failing health for the past few years and passed away at the Sioux Valley Hospital on Monday, September 23, after suffering a severe stroke ten days prior to that time.

Funeral services were held at the Rouwenhorst residence in Sioux Falls on Thursday and at the Sandham Memorial Reformed Church at Monroe, South Dakota. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Parker, South Dakota.

Survivors are his widow; a son, Harold of Marion, South Dakota; two daughters, Mrs. Cornie Langerock of Clear Lake, South Dakota, and Mrs. Edward Unruh of Sioux Falls; four brothers, John and Chris of Santa Ana, California; Al of Sheldon, and Nic of Boyden; five sisters, Mrs. Robert Moret and Mrs. Steve Vanden Brink of Boyden, Mrs. Charles Heemstra of Santa Ana, California; Mrs. Harry Beldt at Matlock, and Mrs. Ed Hoeven of Glendale, California; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
