BLAIR L. RICHTER
Blair Leslie Richter the son of Leslie and Maxine “Deanie” (Rogers) Richter was born November 28, 1959 in Primghar, Iowa. He attended school in Paullina graduating from Paullina High School in 1978, where he enjoyed playing baseball. He went on to attend Northwestern College in Orange City and later Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon. He was employed at Jay’s Restaurant in Sanborn as a cook and bartender for a few years. He moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he resided for five years and was the manager of the Golden Kettle Restaurant. Upon returning to Paullina, he started farming with his dad and later took over the family farming operation. During this time, he worked part time as a bartender in different bars in the area. He retired from farming because of ill health. He moved to the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn on August 2, 2019. He passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at the Orange City Area Health System in Orange City, Iowa reaching the age of 60 years, eight months and nineteen days.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina. He enjoyed family times, bowling, going to the casino, softball in his younger years and was a Iowa Hawkeye and New York Jets fan.
Blair leaves to cherish his memory his father, Leslie “Les” Richter of Sanborn, Iowa; a sister, Sandy Pearson of rural Granville, Iowa; three nieces and one nephew, Lezlie Pearson and Amanda (Lee) Moerman all of Orange City, Iowa; Elizabeth Siepka of Colton, South Dakota and Andrew Pearson of rural Granville, Iowa; seven great nieces and nephews, Michael, Jonathan, Jessica Moerman, Curtis and Lukaus Pearson and Skylar and JR Siepka also other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine “Deanie” Richter, brother-in-law, Carvell Pearson, and nephew-in-law, Nik Siepka.
