From the Alton Democrat of Jun 10, 1905 Orange City News. S. (believed to be Klaas) Kooistra but a short time a resident of Orange City died at the A. Sinnema Home Sunday night at the age of eighty two years. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon from the Reformed church and was quite largely attended. He has one son living in South Dakota.

(It took a lot of hunting to find this man. Found an account in the Sioux Center News that Mr. Kooistra had recently come to Orange City from LeMars. In the June 26, 1901 paper it stated that Klaas Kooistra of Le Mars was ill. So quite sure this death should be Klaas Kooistra.

Sioux County Herald of June 7, 1905 (S. was probably used because he was in the home of S. Sinnema)
S. (Believed to be Klaas) Kooistra, who has been an Orange City citizen for a short time, died on Sunday night at the home of Sinnema here, where he has been staying. Deceased was 82 years old, bat had been quite hearty until last winter. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon from the Christian Reformed church and was quite largely attended. Mr. Kooistra's record, as it it is known here, is one of rare courage. lie made the trip from Holland to the land of opportunity when seventy years of age, and has made a brave struggle to keep his head above water ever since, only succumbing after his only son had played him false. Mr. Kooistra lived in LeMars for some time before coming here.
