CECILIA TREIBER DIES IN FREEMAN

Mrs. Cecelia (McCue) Treiber, the former Hawarden resident, died in the Freeman, South Dakota, hospital at the age of 71, on January 3 after being taken ill suddenly. The funeral mass was held last Saturday, January 6, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Montrose, South Dakota, with Rev. Patrick O'Connor officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery with Kinzley Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Treiber, daughter of Casper and Cecelia Miller, was born at Canistota, South Dakota, on August 9, 1896. She grew to womanhood in the Canistota, Bridgewater area, and was united in marriage to Thomas Me Cue at Marion, South Dakota, on April 30, 1919. The McCues farmed in the same area until 1960 when they moved into Canistota City and operated a cafe there until 1960. Mr. McCue died in 1957.

On November 19, 1960, she was united in marriage to John Treiber at Marion, South Dakota, Mr. Treiber died in 1961 in Hawarden where they were living. For the past two years, she had lived in Canistota, she was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Montrose, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the St. Mary's Guild in Hawarden,

She is survived by two sons, Lloyd of Denver, Colorado, and Donald of Mission, South Dakota, and one daughter, Patricia (Mrs. James Bottorff) of San Bernardino, California, she had 13 grandchildren
