Alton Democrat of Feb 29, 1908

A message was received Sunday conveying word of the sad death of Mrs. Henry Jackson who passed away at the Hospital at Cherokee at eight o'clock Sunday morning. The Jacksons were among the early settlers of Sioux county and resided on a fine farm between Hull and Boyden where they prospered and were well able to retire from farm life which they did about two years ago—moving to Sheldon. Our Hull correspondent says of her: Mrs. Jackson was a Christian woman and lived a Chris life. She was a dutiful wife and a loving mother and a friend to all. Her sad misfortune was such that we refrain from writing as to the last days of her life. He who preserved her for so many years at last when it was His pleasure has taken her to Himself and perhaps if we reflect upon what she left in this life we may look upon this as an instance of his goodness both to her and those who loved her. She might have languished many years in a continual increase of pain and total helplessness. Yet when forced to part with those we love—even if sure to meet tomorrow we still a pang of anguish prove and feel a touch of Sorrow, Deceased was the mother of Mrs. Harry Morgan who died recently.
