DEATH CLAIMS MRS. JACO PASSED AWAY SATURDAY MORNING FROM APOPLEXY. Had Been a Resident of This Community for More Than Forty Years. Leaves Two Children Mrs. J. F. Jaco, for more than forty years a resident of this city, passed away at her home here shortly after midnight Saturday morning following a sudden stroke of apoplexy. Early Friday morning she was found lying at the side of her bed in an unconscious condition by her little 7-years' granddaughter, who made her home with her. Neighbors were advised of her condition and a physician was summoned but she never regained consciousness and passed away that night.
Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Baptist church in this city, conducted by Rev. W. A. WinterStein, pastor of the Methodist church, and interment was made in Grace Hill cemetery. : Julia Peters was born at Cascade, Iowa, Jan. 7, 1857, so was past 68 years of age at the time of her death. She came with her parents and other members of her family to Sioux county in 1883 and located on a farm near Hawarden.
On July 29, 1887, she was united in marriage with James Frank Jaco and her home has continued to be here continuously ever since. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Jaco. One son, Fred, died more than twenty years ago, and one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle May, passed away six years ago. Mr. Jaco died June 10, 1921.
She is survived by one son, Clayton C. Jaco of Portland, Ore,, and one daughter, Mrs. E. C. Waterman of Hawarden. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ed. Whittington of Hawarden and Mrs. Lydia Lawton of Gann Valley, S. D., and six brothers, Wm. and John Peters of Lowell, S. D., C. L. Peters of Hurley, S. D., Eldin Peters of Kimball SD, Clyde Peters of Leonard ND, and ____ Peters of Watsonville CA.
Mrs. Jaco devoted her life to her family. Her life was not always an easy one but she bore her burdens with fortitude. After the death of her daughter six years ago she took her little motherless granddaughter into her home and cared for her tenderly. Sincere sympathy goes out to the member of her family in their bereavement.
