James, Charles born 12 Oct 1876 died 15 Nov 1887 son of B. & L buried in Grace Hill cemetery Hawarden IA.

Tuesday morning the oldest son of Ben. James, aged about eleven years, residing about three miles west of town, died suddenly. The boy was apparently well Monday and was around as usual. Tuesday morning, he complained of sore throat and the glands commenced swelling. About eight o’clock he commenced coughing, and his throat became stopped up and in a short time he choked to death. It was sad indeed and the bereaved parents have the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends.

Possible family was Benjamin James 23 Jun 1854 Waverly VA died 11 Apr 1902 Eiber CO. wife Eliza Jan Skinner 1857-1880 chiildren were Charles James born about 1877 and Lida May James 1880 1933.
IN abt 1883 they were living in Buncombe Tsp Sioux county IA. Benjamin 1854-1902 and brother Andrew were short term residents in the Hawarden area.
