On Sunday, 22 June, at 2 a.m., Mrs. Frans Van Der Stoep, born Maria Adriana Van Pelt, swapped the temporary with the eternal, in the age of 76. In the beginning of February revealed itself an inflammation to the neck, and what ever was tried was done to, nothing benefited. She was in a lot of pain, and about four weeks ago it was a lot of forces.

17 July 1854 at Charlois Nederland she was born, came here in the beginning of 1855 here with her parents. They settled west of Orange City, and when she was married to Frans Vande der Stoep on 30 March, 1876, by her uncle, Ds Betten, the young couple also settled on a farm in the area, where they were lived until Feb. 1905 when they settled in the city.

Their Marriage became blessed with ten children, of which nine are still alive, Johanna Mrs. D. Bruyn, Leendert, Anna Mrs. Geo Oelrich, Andrew, Jennie Mrs. I. O. Vos, Floris F., Dena Mrs. J. Plender, Richard and Kathryn Mrs. Joe Vedder. She is survived by her husband and her two brothers, Leendert here and Henry at Glendale CA, 23 grand and 12 great-great-children, mourn the passing of a loving, caring wife and mother, who gained many friends during her working life because of her gentle orientation.

The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the death house and at 3:30 p.m. at the 1st Ref Church, where Dss. H. Colenbrander and J. D. Dykstra lead the service.
