1925 census lists his father Louis VanderSchaaf as born 1897 IA parents Joe Vander Schaaf and VanderStouwe, wife Anna Schaafsma born 1897 IL (her parents Thomas Schaafsma and Anna Tolsma), they had Gertrude 4 and AnneBella .
