Research note: Trijntje Kathryn Dykstra 5 Sep 1886 New Amsterdam Wisconsin, died 26 Nov 1937 Le Mars IA. She was the daughter of Jan Ulbes Dijkstra 1852-1929 and Jietske Rinzes ‘Edith’ Mulder 1855-1912. Children – Jessie 1910, james 1911, Anna 1913, John 1916, Anthony 1920, Gertrude 1920, Urban 1923.

Former Resident Here Passes Away in Hospital
Mrs. Jake Vander Schaaf aged 50 passed away Friday morning at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Le Mars after a brief illness which developed into gangrene. For some time she had trouble with poor circulation in her legs, and the illness continued until gangrene set in She was taken to the hospital where she died within twenty four hours.

She was the former Kate Dykstra of this vicinity and has resided here for many years previous to moving to Lemars about two years ago. She is survived by three sons and three daughters and her husband; one brother Richard Dykstra and one sister, Mrs. John Bruins.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Chars. Vander Ploeg home where Rev. L. Brunsting officiated, and from the 2nd Chr. Ref. Church where Rev. Keuning was assisted by the Baptist minister of Le Mars. Interment took place in the Sioux Center cemetery.

Relatives form a distance who came to attend the last rites were Rev. John Vander Schaaf of Springfield SD and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kosters of Corsica SD.
