On Friday morning, Mrs. D. Winkel died after suffering from diabetes at the age of 66. On Monday afternoon, the remains were taken to the grave. The service was held in the church building of the Chr. Reformed church here, led by Ds. Van Der Ploeg. The deceased was one of the oldest inhabitants of Sioux Center, since she has been living for years her elderly husband in our midst lives. She was to him a loving companion, who walked her way in silence. We extend our condolences to husband and children.

Obituary.
The 29 September The Lord chose to take away from our side, my wife and the children’s caring mother. Dirkje Winkel born Bosch, in the age of 66 years 4 months and 10 days.
As much as this loss is hard for us, so does this make us wonder that she has gone into the eternal rest. So we wish to rest in the Lord's will.
We extend our thanks to our neighbors and friends for their help and condolences in the disease and for the death of our mother and mother. D. Winkel and children.

Last Friday the news was spread that Mrs. D. Winkel, of whose illness we made mention in our last issue, had died of diabetes. She is survived by her husband and five children. They are Peter, manager of the Farmers' lumber yard; Dick, manager of an elevator in Sherman, S.D.; George and Mary at home, and Johannah or Mrs. Jerry Brandts, who runs a restaurant at Orange City. She was a good woman, a loving mother and an ardent church member who will be greatly missed. She was sixty-six years old. The funeral took place Monday afternoon from the Christian Reformed church, Rev. Vander Ploeg officiating.
