Grandfather Wilkinson died at the home of his son Friday morning at 6 o’clock the funeral occurred Saturday afternoon.

At Rest, yesterday as the news was passed from mouth to mouth among our citizens, that Grandfather Wilkinson as he was familiarly known, was peacefully nearing death’s door a feeling of sadness com over them even though thy knew he was reaching that final rest that is certain to come soon to the aged. This morning at 6 o’clock the final summons came.

William Wilkinson Sr. was born in Hutton, Yorkshire England, Jan 12, 1812. He came to America in 1836, residing in New York State and Canada for two years from whence he removed to the state of Wisconsin. He resided in the home of his son Will.

At the time of his death, grandfather Wilkinson was eighty five years six months and fifteen days old. His allotted time of life had been lengthened over fifteen years. As on among us he was always noted for his cheerful disposition and his kindness to children.
While he was able to be out on the streets he was always ready to join heartily in a joke with his friends both old and young, who will all miss his appearance among us.

The funeral services will take place tomorrow afternoon at Tow o’clock from the M. E. Church, Rev. Smith officiating. The interment will take place in Hope cemetery.
