Douglas Klingenberg age 65, of George, IA died Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Zoar Presbyterian Church rural George, IA with Reverend John Pea, officiating. Service will be Live Streamed, and a Link can be found on Doug’s obituary page on our website.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 27th from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. with the family present at the Zoar Presbyterian Church rural George. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended but not mandatory.

The Jurrens Funeral Home of George is in charge of arrangements for Douglas Klingenberg.

Douglas Dean Klingenberg was born on January 12, 1955 in Sibley, IA, the son of Claus W. and Alma (Bowen) Klingenberg. He grew up in George, IA and attended school there.

On July 31, 1996, Doug was united in marriage to Dona Lemon in Vernon, TX. After their marriage they made their home in George. He worked at Sekisui Aero Space in Orange City, IA. Doug’s hobbies included woodworking, cooking, fishing, hunting, listening to Old Time Country music and loved to be the supervisor when he was working on projects at home with his family. He will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife twenty-three years, Dona Klingenberg of George, IA; four children, Patrick (Kathy) Boddie, Shanda Boddie (Brad Engelkes), DeeDee Klingenberg, and Clover Klingenberg all of George, IA; five grandchildren, Livia Boddie, Niko Boddie, Dillion Lyman, William Boddie and Jasper Klingenberg; eight siblings, Sheryl Colby, Lavanda Klingenberg, Margaret Schwab, Ivan Klingenberg, Arlen Klingenberg, Thelma Yager, Brenda Van Oort and Robert Klingenberg; and many other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claus and Alma Klingenberg; two brothers, Willard Klingenberg and David Klingenberg in infancy.
