Mrs. Eunice Huitink, age 103, of Orange City, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City.

There will be a funeral service on Friday, June 5, at 2:00pm, at the First Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Mark Haverdink will officiate. A private interment will follow the service at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. Visitation without the family will be on Thursday, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Eunice Elizabeth was born on August 27, 1916, in Orange City, the daughter of John A. and Jennie (Popma) Muilenburg. She and her six brothers and three sisters were raised in Orange City where she attended country school through the eighth grade.

On December 29, 1938, she married Harold Oolman in Orange City. They were blessed with three children, Marla, Helen, and Harlan. Harold passed away on April 23, 1966, in Orange City, after more than 27 years of marriage.

On November 30, 1979, Eunice and Clarence Huitink where united in marriage in Orange City. They made their home in Orange City and enjoyed 27 years together before Clarence passed away on January 21, 2007, in Orange City.

Mrs. Huitink was a member of the First Reformed Church, where she participated in different women’s circles and groups. She also enjoyed making rugs and quilts, especially for her grandchildren.

Survivors include her three children, Marla Vande Kamp, of Orange City; Helen, and her husband, Bill Sluis, of Edgerton, Minnesota; and Harlan Oolman, and his wife, Twila, of Orange City; two step-children, Gene Huitink, and his wife, Lois, of Orange City, and Robin Tracy, of Waubay, South Dakota; a step-daughter-in-law, Helen Huitink, of Orange City; twelve grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Betty Munch; a step-son, Dave Huitink; and her six brothers and three sisters, Anthony, Frank, Howard, Elmer, Marion, and Nelson Muilenburg; Gertrude Van Gorp; Margaret Van’t Hof; and Henrietta Stander.

Memorials may be directed to Project 78 at the First Reformed Church.
