Mrs. Kathryn Bomgaars, age 74, of Orange City, passed way Thursday, Oct. 15 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital after a long illness.

Kathryn was born Feb. 22, 1913 at Newkirk, the daughter of Gerrit Top and Nellie Popma Top. On Feb. 26, 1937 she married Henry Bomgaars at Newkirk. They farmed at Newkirk until 1975 when they retired to Orange City. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Orange City.

Survivors include her husband; four children, Muriel Powell of Orange City; Gary of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Jerry (Nalora) Westerveld of Spencer; and Mrs. Harvey (Cheryl) Van Klompenburg of Orange City; eight grandchildren ; sister, Mrs. Arie (Winifred) Bomgaars of Sioux Center and brother, Clifford Top of Alton.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 17 at the First Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Dr. Cecil Martens officiating. Interment followed at the Newkirk Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
