Funeral Services for Vande More
Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Mary’s church in Rock Valley for William John Vande More 51 rural Canton resident with Father Reinhart officiating.

Vande More’s body was found Saturday in a swamp brush area by two hunter, Morris Shelsted and Donal Determan. They notified Warden Home Huntington and Sheriff James Sanden who reported that the Roberts County coroner estimated that he had been dead four or five weeks. A brother identified the body.

VandeMore was born July 1915 in Sioux county, IA. He married Muriah Jones at Rock Valley in 1937. Prior to his service in the Navy in World War II, he had been a blacksmith in Hudson.

Survivors are three daughters Mrs. James Claey and Kathy VandenMore South Sioux City Neb., and mrs. William Clouson Azores, Portugal; three sons Larry and Kim, both of South Sioux City, and David in the Navy in the Bahamas; six grandchildren, and four brothers Joe, Bob and Harry; all of Hudson, and Gerald of Canton.
