In the 1925 census of Granville IA, George Wagner was 63 born about 1862 Germany, married wife was Mary Schook or Schaak age 59 born abt 1866 Luxemburg, his parents were Andrew/Alexander Wagner and Catherine Konrad, her parents were George Schook and Elisabeth Hurberty.

Research note: ancestry.com report (by others) has George Wagner born 31 Oct 1861 wife Mary Schaak 1865-1936 . His father was Andreas Wagner and mother Catharina Konrad, died 20 Feb 1949, buried Granville, Sioux IA. They had three children listed – Catherine 1894, Peter 1896, Dominick 1900.

Early resident here dies at Creston IA.
George Wagner, age 87 years, who made his home in Granville for 50 years passed away at the home of his daughter Mrs. W. B. Brown, near Creston IA, where he made his home the past 4 years, on Sunday evening, Feb 20 at 9:15 pm after a lingering illness.

Geroge Wagner was born in Luzembourg, Europe on Oct 31, 1861, the son of Alexander and Catherine Wagner. On Feb. 8, 1893 he was married to Marie Schook, at Alton IA,

Funeral services were held in St. Joseph Chapel in Granville IA on Wed. morning at 9:00 o’clock, with Rev. C. A. Koebbe officiating at the requiem mass. Interment was made in St. Joseph Cemetery beside his wife, who passed away just a day less that 13 years before, Feb. 21, 1936.

Pallbearers were Clarence Van Bergen, Arthur Holles, A. J. Schemmel, Ben Plathe, Mike Harens and Leonard Howard.

He is survived by 2 children, namely , Mrs. w. B. Brown of Creston and Peter G. Wagner of Chicago, IL, 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, a son Domnick passed away in 1939.

Relatives attending the funeral were Peter G. Wagner of Chicago, Mrs. W. B. Brown and sons, Jock Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brown all of Creston IA. Mr. and Mrs. George Brown of Des Moines iA.
