Mrs. Connie Van’t Hul Nissen, age 52, of Hull, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020, at Sioux Center Health.

There will be a funeral service on Saturday, May 2, at 2:00pm, at the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Van Rathbun will officiate. A private interment will follow the service at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation without the family present will be on Friday, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Connie Mae was born on June 4, 1967, in Rock Valley, the daughter of Robert and Corrine (Vollink) Van’t Hul. She was raised in Hull and graduated from the Boyden Hull High School where she was president of the High School Future Homemakers of America. She then attended the Mason City School of Beauty.

She worked as a hairdresser and a certified nursing assistant at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull, volunteered as an emergency medical technician on the Hull ambulance squad, and helped at Village Northwest and the Super 8 Motel, both in Sheldon. Most recently she used her gifts working at Hope Haven in Rock Valley.

Connie was a member of the First Reformed Church in Hull where she taught Sunday School and catechism classes. She participated in various area support groups, loved arts and crafts, and was an avid writer. She also enjoyed getting into trouble with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her three sons, Nathan Van’t Hul, and his wife, Pamela, of Thorton, Colorado; Christopher Nissen, and his wife, Amber, of Jackson, Minnesota; and Tanner Nissen, of Hull; six grandchildren, Makhala, Ariana, Brooke, Tierra, Xorian, and Xander; her parents, Robert and Corrine Van’t Hul, of Hull; a sister and her husband, Carla and Leon Kleinwolterink, of Sheldon; two nephews and their wives, Cole and Tessa Kleinwolterink, and Zach and Leticia Kleinwolterink; a niece, Sami Kleinwolterink; and a great-nephew on the way.
