Mrs. Amelia C. Drenkow died Sunday, April 17 at the Rock Valley Hospital.

Services were Wednesday, April 20 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Boyden. Pastor William Lewis officiated. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery at Mitchell, South Dakota.

Mrs. Drenkow was born October 3, 1884 near Boyden, the daughter of C.H. and Meta Sophia (Luitjens) Winter. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church. On February 9, 1906 she married Fred Drenkow, they lived near Boyden and Hull until 1916, moved to Elkton, South Dakota, then farmed near Mitchell, South Dakota from 1920 to 1940 when they moved to Watertown, later moving back to Mitchell. She moved to Hull in 1970 and was a resident of the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons: William of Watertown, South Dakota; Marvin of Arcadia, California; three daughters: Helen (Mrs. Paul Sutton) of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Irma (Mrs. Darrell Rardin) of Sherman Oak, California, Doris (Mrs. Clair Larson) of Fargo, North Dakota; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sons: Albert, Walter, Raymond; four brothers; and seven sisters.
