Mary A. Croatt, 85, of Sioux City, IA and formerly of Hospers, IA passed away April 4, 2020 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City, IA.
Private Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hospers with Father Daniel Greving officiating. Family graveside services will follow in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Hospers. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Mary was born Sept. 3, 1934, the daughter of Louis and Eva (Kemem) Croatt at Hospers, IA. She was raised in the Hospers area and received her education at St. Anthony’s Catholic School in Hospers. After leaving home she did housekeeping for priests in Cherokee and Hospers. From there she went to Des Moines and Sioux City and continued housekeeping. In 1988 she went into nursing home care. In 1999 she became a resident of Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City. She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed praying with the residents at Holy Spirit and attending daily mass.
Survivors include, one brother, David Croatt of Sibley, IA; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded by, her parents, Louis and Eva Croatt; brothers, Gerald (Rosella) Croatt, Arnold (Clara) Croatt and Nicholas Croatt; sisters, Lois Ann (Tom) Holevas, and Margaret (Gerald) Klein, Delores (Erv) Eicher; sister-in-law, Jane Croatt.
