Services for Barb E. Ebel, age 67 of Primghar who passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at her residence. A private family service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Primghar with Pastor Cory Grimm ~ officiating.

The family service will be aired on our Facebook page at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

A private family burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Primghar.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time.

Barbara Emily Ebel, the daughter of Nelson and Arlene (Schmidt) Vlieger was born on November 20, 1952 in Orange City, Iowa. Barb grew up on a farm near Hospers until her family moved southwest of Hartley in 1956. She graduated from Hartley High School in 1971. On June 27, 1971 Barb was united in marriage to Daryl Ebel at Sac City Methodist Church. The couple remained in Sac City until they moved to Merril, Iowa where they ran the locker. In 1973 the couple moved to Primghar. Barb did odd jobs around the community for many years and then started working for the State of Iowa as a meat inspector. On April 11, 2020 Barb passed away at her home reaching the age of 67 years, 4 months and 21 days.
Barb was a member of the American Reformed Church in Primghar. She enjoyed cross stitching, going to garage sales, shopping, gardening, painting, cleaning and working. She was an animal lover as she enjoyed her dogs and cats. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and going to their many activities.
Barb is survived by her husband, Daryl; her children and their spouses, Chad and Carol Ebel of Savannah, Georgia, Kelly and Tina Ebel of Cherokee, Iowa and Becky and Mike Rader of Moville, Iowa; grandchildren, Samantha Stange, Tony and Nikki Ebel and Ethan and Jacob Rader; sister-in-law, Blanche Vlieger of Omaha, Nebraska; other relatives and friends.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Vlieger.
